Because it’s been a hot minute since I’ve reported any news on Wallpaper, I figure it’s a good time to share this. The video quality isn’t the best (shaky, low light, bad framing), but frontman Eric Frederic’s duds are sweet, and dude’s rocking the live saxophone at a small venue in Sacramento. The funk quotient has been upped.

THIS JUST IN: Leimert Park nu-funk pharaoh Dâm-Funk has leaked, via Twitter, an unreleased epic titled “The Lone L.A. Funksta”… Hard to believe the prolific fella has any extra material considering he’s released five mini albums this year, and yet, “Funksta” isn’t just a free song — it’s 12 minutes of free song. Perfect for Friday-night boulevard cruising.

Thank God it’s still Friday, because I just discovered something waaaaaaaaay fonky (yes, that is an intentional “o”). Mega huge big-ups to Kristi Lomax at KPFK for spinning this jam on her new “One Track Mind” show. Holy smokes. Give it to the 1:40 mark to convince ya. Once the synths arrive, you’ll know you came to the right place.
